The anniversary of March for Science is fast approaching!
On April 14th citizens from all over the world will be showing their support for science in a variety of ways. Here in Houston we’ll be hosting a Belated Pi Day fundraiser and Pi for Science Bake Sale!
Join us at Henderson Heights Pub for drinks, pizza and a Pi for Science Bake Sale. An educational table for children will be hosted by the American Chemical Society, highlighting the importance of early STEM involvement. Meanwhile, guests will interact with local scientists from some of Houston’s most prominent institutions.
There are many ways to participate in our fundraiser: a collection of science focused children's and adult packages will be raffled every hour. "Something for Pickle" a STEM themed shop will be selling products like their Pi necklace, chemistry pint glasses, biology keychains and much more! They will be donating 10% of their sales at this event to March for Science Houston, by purchasing their fun products, you are supporting two causes!
We are currently pursuing 501(c)3 nonprofit status, this fundraiser will help us fund our future efforts, events and initiatives. Our primary objective is to foster a diverse and inclusive scientific community and advocating for STEM education access. We strive to bridge the gap between scientists and the communities they serve. It is our duty to amplify the role of science in policy making. March for Science Houston is also involved in social justice issues that impact all individuals within the scientific community.
This is a family and dog friendly event with plenty of entertainment to keep your budding scientists busy. So mark your calendars and bring the whole family to chow down for a good cause!
