Science advocates host Drive for Science benefit following Hurricane Harvey.

November 9th, 2017

http://arc-theatre.com/?thh=143 Houston – At 11 AM through 5PM on Saturday, November 11th, 2017, March for Science - Houston will host the Drive for Science, a combination science-geared supply and blood drive, in collaboration with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. Science items gathered are benefitting students of Scarborough Elementary School, which was forced to close its campus and relocate its students due to Hurricane Harvey.

March for Science - Houston is a science advocacy organization that transformed from an event to a movement following the march that gathered 15,000 people at Houston City Hall on April 22nd, 2017.

In addition to their blood drive and STEM kit drive, March for Science — Houston has paired with Kinship Care to provide representatives who will educate and help attendees shop for and enroll in 2018 ACA/health insurance coverage. Voter registration or registration updates is provided, as well, along with hands on science experiments for children, courtesy of volunteers from Baylor College of Medicine and Anita Borg Institute.

Donations of new or gently used STEM-geared kits, toys, and books are welcome and appreciated and may be brought to the event on Saturday.
