Foster a Diverse and Inclusive Scientific Community
Inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility in science are critical for science to serve all communities. We must protect the rights of every person to engage with, learn from, and help shape science. We embed these values into our organization and all March for Science Houston programs and initiatives. We hold the scientific community accountable for ensuring that science is diverse, inclusive, and accessible to all.
Advocate for STEM education
We advocate for STEM education access for socially and economically disadvantaged students, members of underrepresented and marginalized communities. Science can best serve the world when it is diverse and inclusive, providing a wide variety of views and experiences from diverse backgrounds.
From our volunteers, to the people we serve, we strive to reach every corner of our community. Science should be for everyone and by everyone, science has the power to improve and advance our lives, our environment, our work and the prosperity of our community in general. Together we can help Houston thrive!
Empower Public Engagement with Science
Breaking down barriers between scientists and their communities is key to the March for Science Houston’s success. Through outreach programs, we connect scientists to their communities, encouraging an open and respectful dialogue about science and its impact on policy and society.
Amplify the Role of Science in Policy
We give our supporters the resources they need to advocate for science policy and connect with their elected officials at all levels, from school boards to the presidency.
We inform the public about candidates who support sound science, who care for the environment and the future of our planet and the generations that will live with the consequences of today’s actions.
